About Us

As a Child I grew up with a love for art and a desire to create things. My parents and grandparents always encouraged me to pursue new ways to create meaningful works of art. My maternal grandfather, “Pop,” was a skilled craftsman. I spent many long hours with him in his welding and carpentry shop. There I learned valuable skills that l still use today. Pop always encouraged me to learn. He would say, “I don’t want you to stop at what I know; I want you to go out there and learn more.”

Having a thirst for knowledge and skills, I joined a Blacksmithing Guild and attended their classes while I was in high school. With Pop’s help, I set up my own “blacksmith shop,” and started shoeing horses for the public while still in my teens. Later I started working with a local saddle maker who taught me how to work with leather and build saddles. All those experiences created a burning desire to be a craftsman.

Now, twenty years later, my wife and I have established Magnolia Works LLC. This makes it possible for me to chase my dream of being a full-time craftsman. We are determined to put God first in everything we do; to provide our customers with the highest quality products possible; and to maintain the highest standards in customer service. We want our business to provide a loving service to church and community and to customers nationwide.

I thank God for giving me life and immortality through His Son Jesus and giving us the opportunity to fulfill my dream. Also, I thank my supportive wife for her faith, spiritual guidance, and willingness to “take the risk.” I also owe my parents much gratitude for always believing in me and standing by me. I am grateful to my paternal grandparents “Grandmother” and “Granddaddy” for their encouragement and spiritual support. Thanks also to my mother-in-law and father-in-law for their wisdom and guidance. Finally, I am thankful for my “Pop” who planted and nurtured my dream of being a Craftsman.
